By Haiti Adventist Hospital - August 20, 2016

Over the past six months, from February 18 to July 31, 2016, four of our nursing supervisors made the long journey to Mirebalais Teaching Hospital for training in Pediatric and Neonatal Intensive Care. They are Ms. Yanique Poustin, Ms. Esther Jean Pierre, Ms. Florence Etienne and Ms. Louise Magdala Orphee. Classes we conducted on Wednesday and Thursday of each week and culminated with a grand graduation ceremony on Sunday July 31, 2016. A well-equipped and knowledgeable team of instructors from different parts of Haiti, as well as from Boston Children’s Hospital worked arduously to ensure that students received well rounded theoretical and practical training which is recognized by Haiti’s Ministry of Health. We are grateful to Mirebalais Hospital for hosting this training and for their invitation to participate. Haiti Adventist Hospital was one of eleven hospitals that sent representatives to be trained and certified. Our nurse supervisors, one that was trained in Pediatric Intensive Care and three that were trained in Neonatal Intensive Care, excelled in their classes and we are very proud of their accomplishments. They will be working along with our nursing director and education director to conduct training sessions with the rest of our nursing staff to share their knowledge. The Haiti Adventist Hospital continues to work towards providing on-going learning opportunities for our staff to ensure that consistent quality care is afforded to our patients. We thank God for the blessings and progress made thus far.
